General Function Performs duties related to the origination of residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals. Meets standards and objectives for mortgage loan sales and cross-selling. Assumes responsibility for the mortgage loan from application to closing. Responsible for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Achieves results within the Bank’s risk appetite by managing risks effectively. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, contacts). Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures, loan products, processing, underwriting, and guidelines. Follow escalation protocols for exceptions. Take applications using Fannie Mae form 1003. Use the laptop for communication, rate access, credit reports, Loan Prospector responses, and transmitting loans. Collect documentation and deliver loan packages timely. Manage pipeline through closing and complete reports. Provide updates to branches and applicants. Maintain high customer service levels. Participate in all required meetings. Minimum Knowledge And Skills Required High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. Knowledge of lending guidelines, processing, underwriting, and regulations. At least 2 years of mortgage lending experience. Established local referral sources and a sales volume of $1 million/month. Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and computer skills. Basic sales skills and a desire to excel. Must have S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS at employment.
