Summary:

The Ototech provides basic audiologic and immittance testing for and at the request of Ear, Nose and Throat physicians in a medical clinic setting while being supervised by a licensed audiologist.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist audiologists in the daily performance of audiologic and immittance testing for ear, nose and throat patients; those tests include but are not limited to:

• Otoscopy
• Tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing
• Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissionstesting( DPOAE) testing
• Pure tone air and bone Audiometry
• Speech Audiometry
• Test Assisting with Children

• Regular use of standard audiometric equipment
• Regular use of EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
• Willing to learn other aspects of the office and support team when short handed
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Working knowledge of current OSHA and blood borne pathogen regulations
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage several tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, physicians and providers.
• Ability to maintain professional behavior and promote a positive image of the practice.
• Be responsible and compassionate.
• Be detailed oriented.
• Communicate well with both patients and coworkers.

Education:

The accepted minimal educational background for an audiologist's assistant should be a high school diploma and competency-based training.

Applicant will be required to complete CPOP training.
