This role is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $5,000 with a two-year work commitment to UPMC! $3,000 would be paid at the start of your journey with an additional $2,000 as you move up through our career ladder.

Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Communicate with hospital personnel, patients, and visitors; refer drug info to Staff Pharmacists.

\n
• Finalize sales; follow cash handling policies.

\n
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work environment.

\n
• Ensure safe storage of medications per regulations.

\n
• Keep documentation (eye wash logs, refrigerator logs, inventory logs, etc.).

\n
• Comply with laws (HIPAA, OSHA) and PBM requirements (FWA, CMS).

\n
• Practice hand hygiene.

\n
• Use computer skills for patient records.

\n

\n

Distribution & Filling

\n

\n
• Distribute medications (cassettes, emergency carts, controlled substances).

\n
• Return discontinued medications to the pharmacy.

\n
• Maintain positive service relationships during distribution.

\n
• Prepare oral medications correctly and timely.

\n
• Fill medication orders with proper labeling, counting, and stocking; initial and date products.

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required.
\n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

\n

\n
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

\n
• Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

\n
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

\n
• Act 33 with renewal

\n
• Act 34 with renewal

\n
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
